Halloween and a Hurricane

Last year we had a wet, slushy, heavy snow fall on the weekend before Halloween.  Yesterday it was mild and beautiful, but we'll start feeling the effects of Hurricane Sandy today.  Fortunately I'll have plenty of time to spend with my boys and hopefully get a few things created while we're stuck inside!

Here's the Halloween costumes I made for my boys, finished last night.  Green and black spiders - my own designs, no patterns - just imagination!  They'll wear them with black sweats and black turtle necks.  The teardrop shaped spider will be my older son's and the round is for my younger son.  I can't wait to take photos of them in the costumes!

Here are the hat and mittens with removable cord for the custom order

The first of two events I'll be at is in a few weeks, mark your calendar!

Saturday, November 17th - 8am to noon Collingswood Farmer's Market.  *If the weather cooperates (pray hard!!!).  This was such a great venue last year and I love being a customer when I get the chance to drive over on a Saturday morning!  Please stop by, it's the last Farmer's Market in Collingswood until May 2013!
Thank you for stopping by to check out what I've been up to.  If you're in the area of our country that Sandy's headed toward, please be safe!  I'll post when I can.

Have a blessed week!

Weekly Top 5

It's that time again... weekly top 5 time!

Last week my husband took down the deer fence at my plot at the community garden for me - so wonderful for him to do since I couldn't and gardening really isn't his thing.  So I'm focusing on a bit of a nature theme... I'm sad to see the growing season end, but looking forward to planning next season's gardens.

I have two local events that I'll be at this fall:

Saturday, December 1st - 9am - 3pm Eastern High School Annual Holiday Craft Show, Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees, NJ.  I'll be in the Gym.

Thank you for stopping by to read and catch up... I appreciate the interest in my designs and creations!

Have a blessed week!

*I've made the executive decision not to invest in a tent this year because of my multiple surgeries - I think it would be too much to handle setting up on my own and I don't want to injure myself.  As it is I'm kind of pushing it doing an event seven-ish weeks after double surgery.

Weekly Top 5 - Pretty Things

But first a little update on me...

In the adventure that has been my life for the past six months, the latest unexpected health issue has been an appendectomy with a surprise hernia repair - I got two surgeries when I only thought I was getting one!  If you're counting it was surgeries five and six in five months.  Now I'm home, recovering, resting, taking it easy.  Crocheting to keep my mind sharp.  Appreciating the outpouring of help, meals, and prayers from our family and friends.  We could not get through all of these past months without the support of others.

As a thank you to my wonderful customers for your patience during this latest recovery, please use code FALLTHANKS for 15% off your purchase.  Code is valid through October 14th.  The catch is that your package will not ship until October 15th.

So now onto my Weekly Top 5...
