Two Big Events!!!

First... Tomorrow's the opening of ALL NATURAL @ Markeim - Group Photography Exhibition of unretouched natural photographs.  I'll be there from 6:30-8:30 and I'd love to see you... here's more info:

ALL NATURAL @ Markeim - Group Photography Exhibition

Opening Reception: February 8, 6:30pm- 8:30pm

Join us this Friday as we honor these great works of more than 30 local and regional Markeim artists. Wine, cheese & dessert reception.

Featured live music for the reception: Quartet 33 is a jazz/pop/fusion/blues band that plays original works as well as their own interpretations of music by a wide variety of artists such as Pat Metheny, Bill Withers, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Van Morrison, Coldplay, Sting, and others. 

Alto and Tenor Sax: John Giannotti 

Guitar: Bjorn Kommedal 

Bass: Steve Bergmann 

Percussion: Bob Laramie 

A suggested donation of $10 from guests.

The exhibit will be available for viewing through March 1st during normal gallery hours

The second big event I'm part of is on Sunday, February 24th - the OSCARS!!!  My Upcycled Flowers are on their way to the Oscars Celebrity Gifting Lounge!  I look forward to sharing picture(s) with you after the event!  I will have items featured at three other awards shows later this year... looking forward to sharing those with you, too!

My Upcycled Flowers will be there for celebrities to choose!  How exciting is that?!?!

Top Picks - Holiday Helper

So the last time I posted a Top 5 was November 1st, from the road.  It's been quite hectic since then...
We have had our power restored after Sandy (while we were away); taken a roadtrip to Tennessee, Florida, and Virginia for 12 days and nights; come home to no phone, television, internet services; my husband went on a trip to Washington State the day after we arrived home; prepared for & did a craft show; prepared for Thanksgiving at the in-law's; prepared for and hosted a second Thanksgiving at our home!  Then prepared for and did the Eastern High School Craft Show on December 1.  Currently I'm a featured artist at the Markeim Arts Center Give the Gift of Art 100s Under $100 art show and sale... What a whirlwind!

Weekly Top 5 - Harvest Halloween

It's that time again ... my top 5 picks for this week!

I did a fun craft this yesterday that took 15 minutes start to finish.  I saw something similar on Pinterest or Facebook last week.  I took canning rims that were past their prime and set them together with a rubberband and paperclip.  Then I took scrap green yarn and crochet a stem.  The example had a broken stick in the middle, but I love the touch of green with the metalic rims and it goes so well with my dining room decor!

With the days shorter and the weather cooler, I chose Harvest Halloween as my theme for this week.  Not every week will have a theme, but I figure if you find something you love here, you'll have time to order it and receive in time to use for Halloween or Thanksgiving!

Still working on stock for my two fall shows and juggling everything with the children and life in general.  I'm having such a blast with crochet that the other lines are not being restocked right now.  I do have several upcycled cashmere and wool projects in mind, but I'm not ready to sit down with the needle and thread just yet!
